| At
Paya Lebar Methodist Church (PLMC), there
are plenty of opportunities to minister to
each other and be ministered to, and also
to serve. Our ministries are the lifeline
of the Church, catering to different age and
interest groups. Come join us to bless others
and be blessed!
CELL
GROUP
The
cell group is the basic Christian community.
The cell group is thus about life. It is about
people, not programmes, events, and not even
the cell meeting per se. The cell group is
also the basic building block for all other
church ministries. It is within the cell environment
that every believer will be equipped and prepared
to do the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16).
OUTREACH
As
a people of God, we believe that salvation
is possible only through our Lord Jesus Christ
as there is no other name given for the redemption
of mankind. (Acts 4:12). As God has blessed
us, we are committed to bless our community
through our community-bonding events with
the residents of Serangoon Central and other
outreach activities.
MISSIONS
We are a family blessed to bless the nations,
doing whatever it takes to fulfill the Great
Commission in reaching out to unreached people
groups. Using the Missions Track 123Go, we
will trust God for 40 missionaries from PLMC
by the year 2010. Genesis 12:3 "….and
all the peoples of the earth will be blessed
through you."
SPIRITUAL
FORMATION
Spiritual Formation is about our journey with
God towards spiritual maturity or Christ-likeness.
This Ministry seeks to deepen our awareness
of our relationship with God and to nuture
and strengthen the spiritual life of our church
members through its activities.
WORSHIP
& MUSIC
Worship is not
something we do only on Sunday mornings. It
is how we allow God to transform us so that
we can be better "reflectors" of
God's light and His love. The Worship &
Music Ministry strives to enhance the worship
experience for all who come to PLMC. It is
our mission that all may encounter God in
a deep and personal way through the worship
experience.
DISCIPLESHIP
& NURTURE
The cell church provides a conducive environment
for the nurturing and equipping of church
members to Christian maturity. The Disciple
Track, which comprises training sessions,
equips cell members to achieve PLMC's vision
of fulfilling the Great Commission.
MINISTRY
TO THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED
The Ministry of the Visually Impaired is an
outreach arm of PLMC. It aims to help the
visually impaired or those with low vision
through modern technology, as well as direct
them to other organisations which serve the
needs of the Visually Impaired. It also aims
to share the Gospel through programmes organised
jointly with other Christian organisations,
who serve the needs of the visually impaired.
ADULT
MINISTRY
The ministry comprises the Methodist Senior
Fellowship (MSF) and the Women's Society of
Christian Service (WSCS). The MSF meets regularly
in their cell groups every Wednesday. The
ladies of the WSCS provide various forms of
support to the women in our church.
CROSSOVER
Crossover aims to assimilate the young adults of PLMC, ensuring a smooth transition into adulthood. The young adult is challenged daily with issues that are unique and controversial. Crossover also seeks to bring a strong biblical perspective on such issues.
YOUTH
MINISTRY
The Youth Ministry aims to reach and disciple
all youths and their "oikos" so
that they will become Great Commission disciples
of Jesus. The youths join life-transforming
cell groups, with a purpose-driven, God-led
leadership team who look after them.
CHILDREN'S
MINISTRY
The Children's Ministry nurtures young children
in the knowledge and love of God through the
9.00 am and 1.15 am Church School on Sundays.
It also works with the Cell, Missions and
Outreach ministries to enable the children
to participate in PLMC's vision to fulfill
the Great Commission.
COVENANT
FAMILY SERVICE CENTRE
The Covenant Family Service Centre
(CFSC) is a community outreach project. It
aims to enrich the lives of and support the
families in the community, regardless of race
or religion, through a wide variety of programmes
and services.
COVENANT
KINDERGARTEN
The Covenant Kindergarten, an outreach arm
of PLMC, hopes to be a beacon of light to
the community by providing high quality pre-school
education, as well as love, care and concern
to the children from the neighbourhood.
HOPE
STUDENT CARE CENTRE
HOPE Student Care Centre helps to meet the
child care needs of the community by providing
supervised care for the children aged 7 -
14 years before or after school hours.
ADMINISTRATION
It is very clear from Scripture that administration
is a spiritual gift. At PLMC, it includes
the Contact Point ministry, Publications and
Information Ministry, the gift shop, Multimedia,
ad-hoc projects and other related ministries.
