You
have heard me teach many
things that have been confirmed
by many reliable witnesses.
Teach these great truths
to trustworthy people who
are able to pass them on
to others. |

The cell church provides
a conducive environment
for the nurturing and equipping
of church members to Christian
maturity. The small numbers
within the cell group provide
a safe and non-threatening
sphere for spiritual and
emotional growth, accountability,
support and ministry. |
When a believer comes into the
church, he will embark on the
Disciple Track, which is designed
to help chart his spiritual journey
within PLMC's vision of fulfilling
the Great Commission (Matthew
28:18-20). To walk this track,
he begins his journey with a cell
group.
The Disciple Track consists
of four phases, encompassing both
nurturing and equipping. In a
nutshell, the First Steps
Phase assimilates the believer
into the cell and ensures he is
acquainted with the Track, beginning
with water baptism. The Cornerstone
Phase provides grounding in
the essentials of the Christian
life and equipping with basic
skills to share his faith as he
is challenged into the membership
of the church. The Disciple
Phase explores into more depth
faith and ministry courses for
effective discipleship. And finally
the Leader Phase prepares
the cell member to be a cell leader
and disciple maker. All phases
of the Track can be monitored
with the Disciple Log. Plans for
continuous Christian growth and
further equipping skills are still
in the making.
Solomon's Mines
The church library, Solomon's
Mines, is both an added resource
for both cell groups and the congregation
at large. Items range from books,
video CDs and journals. Our hottest
items are the children's books
and VCDs. The library is opened
every Sunday from 10.30am to 1pm for all to borrow
their favourite items or just
simply browse in comfort the various
books and magazines with soothing
background music.

Baptism & Membership
Baptism is a public declaration
of the repentance of our
sins and acceptance of Jesus
Christ as Saviour and Lord.
It is an important act whereby
the candidate vows obediently
to keep God's Holy Will
and Commandments and walk
in the same all the days
of his life. |
 |
But while the commitment to be
an obedient member is made, the
issue of accountability arises.
Hence the act of Confirmation
allows the Christian to be a member
of a Christian community, that
is, a local Methodist church in
this case, where he can remain
a faithful member to support it
with his presence, prayers, gifts
and service.
As such, all who desire to be
baptised and received into the
membership of PLMC (including
transfer from non-Methodist churches
and sister Methodist churches)
have to undergo the Baptism &
Membership Preparation Classes.
The baptism class is conducted
every quarter while the membership
preparation classes are conducted
twice a year. Subsequently, all
new members will be channelled
into cell groups (if they are
not yet in one) to participate
with others in the life of the
church.
