They
devoted themselves to the
apostles' teaching and to
the fellowship, to the breaking
of bread and to prayer.
And the Lord added to their
number daily those who were
being saved.

The
cell group is the basic Christian
community. The cell group is thus
about life. It is about people,
not programmes, events, and not
even the cell meeting per se.
The cell group is also the basic
building block for all other church
ministry. It is within the cell
environment that every believer
will be equipped and prepared
to do the work of ministry (Ephesians
4:11-16). |
At PLMC, we have over 70 cell
groups, led by cluster
leaders.
|
MISSION
To be transformed
in Christ's love
To be empowered by the
Holy Spirit
To be equipped for the
purpose of ministering
(local church), reaching
out (community and immediate
circle of influence),
and extending God's
kingdom (the nations)
OBJECTIVES (3Es)
To edify the
body of Christ … by
loving cell members
and ministering to each
other.
To evangelise
…by loving others outside
the cell group and sharing
the good news of Jesus.
To exercise the gifts
of the Holy Spirit …
through releasing words
of prophecy and exercising
other gifts of the Spirit
so as to build up cell
members.

THE CELL MEETING
In a cell meeting, we do the 4Ws:
|
 |
|
Welcome is a time of warming up to each other.
Worship is focusing on and blessing God with our praises, and exercising the gifts of the Holy Spirit to encourage and build up cell members.
Word is applying God's Word in order to transform the way we live our lives.
Works is praying for the unsaved in our community, families and friends, planning for the next evangelistic outreach, and doing good works. |
What
makes a successful cell group?
It is one that multiplies itself
and cares for its members beyond
the cell meeting, that is, on
the other six days of the week.
Our cell groups are intentional
in gathering, discipling, and
multiplying. The moment we win
people into God's kingdom, they
are gathered into a cell group.
They are then followed up, nurtured,
and discipled so as to become
effective disciple-makers. An
important mark of a disciple
is his or her fruitfulness in
spiritual multiplication. Thus,
all members will eventually
be sent out two by two to start
their own cell groups.
To ensure that all cell leaders
are cared for, apart from being
the cell leader of their cell
group, they are also part of
a Leaders Cell. They enjoy two
relationships. The former as
a discipler of the flock entrusted
to him or her. The latter as
part of a cell group where members
are accountable to each other
for their personal lives, and
encouraged by each other in
their roles as cell leaders.
