Paya Lebar Methodist Church
Covenant Kindergarten began
as Covenant Nursery in 1986.
18 April 1991 saw the birth
of PLMC Covenant Kindergarten,
registered with MOE, occupying
Covenant Centre at Boundary
Road, the former premises
of Paya Lebar Methodist
Girls' School.
In
January 1999, the school
moved back to Boundary Road
from Elling Primary School
at Upper Paya Lebar Road.
With the beautiful new Sanctuary
and Covenant Centre standing
out at the junction of Upper
Serangoon Road and Boundary
Road, we hope to be a Beacon
Of Light to all around us
by providing a high quality
pre-school education as
well as love, care and concern
to the neighbourhood.

Objectives

Covenant Kindergarten aims to:

social and spiritual development
of each individual child

Our Programme
The School's Programme
includes:

wide variety of activities
within our academic curriculum,
approved by MOE. A thematic
approach is used and our
worksheets and workbooks
are written and designed
by the teachers themselves.
Much care is taken to ensure
materials are of a high
standard and the development
of thinking skills is widely
emphasised.

Hands-on
activities and creative
programmes to promote independence,
confidence and problem-solving
skills in children.

English
as the medium of instruction
and Chinese as the second
language.

Computer
classes for K1 and K2 children
provide good reinforcement
and enrichment, in line
with the school curriculum.

Emphasis
on nurturing spiritual maturity
and prayer through daily
devotions on values and
principles founded on the
Word of God.

Celebrations
of annual events such as
Chinese New Year, National
Day, Teachers' Day, Children's
Day and Graduation Concert,
etc, to instill cultural
awareness and respect.

Participation
in field trips and outings,
humanity giving and acts
of charity and kindness
shown through love gifts
and fund-raising from the
children, parents and teachers.
Examples of projects: fund-raising
towards the people of Indonesia,
hongbao project for St Luke's
Hospital for the Elderly
and Underprivileged, etc
to instill culture awareness
and respect.

Holidays:
The Kindergarten follows the school
term holidays laid down by the
Ministry of Education. There are
