THE COMMUNITY AND THE NATIONS
OUR MISSION
We exist to glorify God and make disciples of Christ.
OUR
STRATEGY
Preach
and teach God's Word without
compromise.
Make prayer as a
priority in the life of
every disciple and pray
unceasingly before, during
and after the work of ministry
and programmes.
Establish vibrant
corporate worship.
Embrace the cell
church as the means to fulfilling
God's purpose through our
church.
Evangelise through
personal lifestyle, in the
cell and at corporate church
events.
Participate actively
in Missions as a sender,
advocate, mobiliser and
missionary.
Nurture disciples
through personal mentoring
and systematic equipping
programmes.
Develop healthy relationships.
Give generously and
cheerfully.
A
Cell Church
At
PLMC, we believe that the
cell church is the vehicle
to accomplish God's vision
and mission for our church.
The cell church is not the
21st century way of "doing"
church. In the first century,
the Christian church was
organised this way when
Jesus' disciples met from
"house to house."
Later, John Wesley also
gathered believers together
in "classes and bands".
Therefore, besides the Sunday
corporate celebrations,
the other important aspect
of life as the body of Christ
is the cell group. Cells
are the basic Christian
community for every believer.
And the church is formed
from them, and is the sum
of them.
Underlying
the cell church strategy
is the principle that every
Christian is a minister.
According to Ephesians 4:11-16,
the role of apostles, prophets,
evangelists, pastors and
teachers is not to do the
work of ministry. Instead,
their task is to equip God's
people so that every believer
does the work of ministry.
Every PLMC member should
be in a cell group. Pastors
and leaders are to be active
participants in cell groups.
In time to come, future
leaders as well as missionaries
will be identified and raised
from those who live fruitful
lives in the context of
cell life.
In the same way, the cell
strategy is integral in
our community outreach and
sending of missionaries
to the field. This means
that whenever possible,
we will grow a new cell
group whenever and wherever
a new believer enters God's
kingdom.
